Bankstown is one of the busiest Metro D aerodromes in Australia, serving as one of Australia's key flight training locations.

It is a complex operating environment with unique characteristics such as:

    • a diverse range and large volume of aircraft operations, including commercial, freight and training
    • an airspace structure adjoining the high-density airspace of the Sydney Basin
    • a complex aerodrome layout with a triple parallel runway configuration.

With the volume of aircraft operations in the Sydney Basin expected to grow, it is crucial for all of us to stay focused and committed to ensuring system-wide safety.
