Perth Airport is building a new runway parallel to its main Runway 03/21, expected to be operational in 2028. This will increase airport capacity and improve operational efficiency for airlines operating at the airport. The new runway will require new flight paths.
In 2018, Perth Airport released a Major Development Plan (MDP) for the new runway, including indicative flight path corridors to assess impacts. The MDP underwent a 12-week public comment period, with submissions reported here, and was approved by the Federal Minister for Infrastructure in November 2020.
Building on the MDP’s flight path corridors, Airservices Australia is engaging with the community to develop the final flight path design. Multiple engagement rounds will occur between 2026 and 2028 in accordance with the Airservices Community Engagement Standard (Level 1 – most complex proposals).
