Set 4: Independent parallel runway operations
Purpose: To facilitate the introduction of simultaneous arrivals using both runways (including suburbs within Brisbane City Council, Logan City Council and Moreton Bay City Council).
Several complex safety and operational factors require further evaluation before options can be produced. Independent parallel runway operations also introduce additional Air Traffic Control staffing and training requirements that must be addressed. As such, the types of flight path changes explained in this factsheet are presented for information only during this phase of Package 3 community engagement, rather than for feedback.
However, you are welcome to submit comments on any local conditions or factors that you would like us to be aware of when developing detailed flight path designs.
