Gold Coast Airport - southern arrival route

Airservices Australia is seeking community feedback on a proposal about how some aircraft arrive at Gold Coast Airport when using Runway 32. In these conditions, aircraft approach from the south and land towards the north.

The proposal would remove a current usage restriction on the existing Runway 32 RNP-AR approach. This means the approach, which can already be used by some capable and certified aircraft, would become available to a broader range of eligible international arrivals from New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific region in suitable operating conditions.

No new flight paths are proposed. However, the number of aircraft using two existing arrival routes may change. This means some communities south of the airport may notice more aircraft movements and others may notice fewer. The proposal may also improve operational efficiency by giving air traffic controllers greater flexibility in managing arrivals.
