Updates to the Community Engagement Standard

Airservices Australia is proposing updates to its existing Community Engagement Standard for Flight Path and Airspace Change Proposals (the Standard).

The Standard sets out how Airservices engages with communities on flight path and airspace change proposals across Australia. It provides a consistent framework for engagement, while allowing the approach to be tailored to the scale, complexity and potential community impact of each proposal.

The proposed updates to the Standard have been informed by feedback from communities and industry stakeholders, as well as lessons learned from applying the Standard since it was introduced in 2023, and is part of a scheduled two-yearly review of the Standard.

A final, updated, version of the Standard will be published in late 2026, following community and stakeholder feedback.
