Canberra Airport non-jet Departure Safety Change

In mid-2026, the opening of Western Sydney International (WSI) Airport will require changes to Canberra Airport’s non-jet departure routes. These routes will shift to the west to safely integrate with the new airspace operations. There are no changes to the departures until west of Lake George. As the area under the new departure path is already frequently overflown and as aircraft will be at a relatively high altitude, the shift of this departure path is unlikely to be noticeable to communities.
