Upcoming test flight of Instrument Landing System (ILS)

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) will conduct flight validation of the ILS instrument approach procedures at WSI following successful commissioning of the ILS earlier this month.

Each procedure will be flown once, with the activity expected to be completed within two hours, subject to weather and traffic.

The flight will be operating from Camden Airport and will overfly Western Sydney Airport in the morning of 19 May 2026 for approx. 2 hours without landing at WSI.

Local residents may notice a twin-engine aircraft flying a low and unusual flight pattern up during these times.

We appreciate the community’s understanding during this essential safety and commissioning activity.
