What’s changing?
Airservices has been working with Skydive Australia to recommence skydive operations into Randwick Racecourse at the end of October 2021. This is a continuation of previous skydive operations into Randwick racecourse. These operations have now been formalised in a Letter of Agreement to ensure there are appropriate noise minimisation procedures in place.
What will you notice?
Communities in the vicinity of Sydney Airport and Randwick Racecourse may notice aircraft operating between 8000 - 10000 feet (2.4km - 3km) above Randwick Racecourse when skydive operations are underway. Operations are limited to Sundays and Public holidays, with a maximum of 4 drops per day. The aircraft will depart and arrive at Sydney Airport on standard flight routes and climb and descend over the ocean whenever possible.
Existing aircraft priorities and noise management procedures will continue to take priority and will cease when Sydney Airport traffic volumes increase.
Due to the increasing traffic volumes at Sydney Airport, the skydive operations into Randwick Racecourse did not proceed.
We thank the community and stakeholders for their input.
