Changes come into effect on 9 July 2026
Flight path changes will come into effect on 9 July 2026, when the airspace around Ballina Airport transitions to controlled airspace. Airservices Australia will provide air traffic control services daily from 7am to 8pm local time at a mobile control tower at the airport.
Residents around the Northern Rivers may notice a change in aircraft operations in their local areas. A survey will be activated on this page from 9 July for the community to provide feedback, which will be considered as part of a post-implementation review that will be undertaken around 12 months after implementation.
