Airspace Change Approved

Following the Hobart Airspace Design Review consultation period, Airservices undertook a comprehensive process to develop the final flight path design, which was released to the community in March 2019.

After completing the final flight path design, we submitted an Airspace Change Proposal (ACP) to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Office of Airspace Regulation (OAR) to modify airspace to the north east and east of Hobart.

This airspace change is required in order to accommodate the final flight path design, including keeping aircraft in controlled airspace who may be operating around weather or being sequenced for operations.

The OAR reviewed our submission and approved the change on 8 May 2019.

More information on the Airspace Change Process can be found on CASA’s website.

The new airspace and flight paths will be implemented on 7 November 2019.
