Orange Regional Airport - Changes for Emergency Helicopters
24 February 2020
This change will be implemented from 26 March 2020
19 September 2019
From October 2019, Airservices will make changes so it is easier for emergency helicopters to depart Orange Regional Airport in cold and poor weather (particularly in winter).
In poor weather emergency helicopters can experience difficulties departing from the airport due to the risk of helicopter rotor blades icing.
To enable emergency helicopters to urgently respond in these weather conditions we will create four new waypoints (navigation markers for aircraft) which will allow emergency crews to safely depart from the airport.
